Women Talking Politics is a special issue from the New Zealand Political Studies Association. I’m thrilled to be the co-editor this year alongside the talented Saba Muneer. This year’s theme, Resistance and Resilience, invites contributors to consider this tension during a time of urgency and contestation.

We welcome work from scholars, students, activists, practitioners, and creatives, including:

  • research articles
  • commentary pieces
  • dissertation reports
  • research abstracts
  • poetry and creative work

We are especially keen to encourage submissions from early-career researchers, postgraduate students, and contributors from diverse and underrepresented communities. As this year’s issue will launch at the 2026 Conference for the Social Sciences: He Kai Kei Aku Ringa, we also invite contributions from the wider sociology community.

Submissions open now through 15 July

Email us at womentalkingpolitics@nzpsa.co.nz.

If you have work in progress that might be a good fit, we would love to hear from you.
